Canonical production
A near-global, one arc-second radar digital surface model acquired during the February 2000 Shuttle Radar Topography Mission.
Dataset endpoint: https://nc.dted.org
The canonical endpoint remains the general default. Alternatives are independent products and may be better suited to a particular terrain model, geography, or analysis. Selecting a source never silently combines it with another source.

Evaluation preview QA passed USGS 3DEP 1/3 Arc-Second DEMA continually updated, seamless U.S. bare-earth terrain model at approximately ten-meter native posting.
ATAK can use this endpoint through its built-in Elevation Tools. Simple DTED Streamer remains optional. The offline ZIP contains this source’s enhanced cells for North Carolina.

Download the state ZIP and import it with ATAK Import Manager or another TAK client that supports zipped DTED.
This package contains this source’s cells only. Source-specific alternatives do not include canonical fallback cells.
Each polygon is a projected 1° × 1° cell. The map shows cells enhanced by this release, not implied baseline or fallback coverage.
DTED level describes delivered post spacing, not absolute accuracy. Source model, observation method, conversion, terrain, and validation all affect operational suitability.
